Hardware development has a golden rule of 1:10:100. It takes only 1 hour to correct the same issue during the design stage, 10 hours when a prototype is made and over 100 after the first batch is produced. The same rule applies to cost. However, when designed properly, hardware products may be a source of revenue for years. Thus, finding a balance between rapid development and investing sufficient time in detailed engineering is the main responsibility of the product owner.”
