There are three major tech platforms growing inĀ 2020ā¦
Virtual Reality (VR), Augmented Reality (AR), and Internet ofĀ Things (IoT).
But what are the differences between them?
Virtual reality
This technology is one that completely immerses the user in a digital world, and blocks out all elements of the physical one. Virtual reality entails the use of a specialized visor for visual input, and oftentimes headphones for auditory input. This piece of equipment is called a «VR helmet».
Augmented reality
ARĀ isĀ aĀ technology that āaugmentsā the physical world with interactive digital elementsĀ ā For example PokemonĀ Go, orĀ various selfie filters.
Internet ofĀ Things
IoT technologies are ones that exist predominantly inĀ the physical world. These are items that communicate with each other through various wireless meansĀ ā Bluetooth, wi-fi, orĀ aĀ 2.4gHz connection. Amazon Alexa, Google Nest, and most any other Ā«SmartĀ» product are all examples ofĀ IoT devices.
Each ofĀ these emerging technologies are powerful, and immensely helpful depending onĀ how they are needed.
And ifĀ youāre looking for tech investments, VR, AR, and IoT will all pay dividends!
