There are three major tech platforms growing in 2020…
Virtual Reality (VR), Augmented Reality (AR), and Internet of Things (IoT).
But what are the differences between them?
Virtual reality
This technology is one that completely immerses the user in a digital world, and blocks out all elements of the physical one. Virtual reality entails the use of a specialized visor for visual input, and oftentimes headphones for auditory input. This piece of equipment is called a «VR helmet».
Augmented reality
AR is a technology that ‘augments’ the physical world with interactive digital elements — For example Pokemon Go, or various selfie filters.
Internet of Things
IoT technologies are ones that exist predominantly in the physical world. These are items that communicate with each other through various wireless means — Bluetooth, wi-fi, or a 2.4gHz connection. Amazon Alexa, Google Nest, and most any other «Smart» product are all examples of IoT devices.
Each of these emerging technologies are powerful, and immensely helpful depending on how they are needed.
And if you’re looking for tech investments, VR, AR, and IoT will all pay dividends!
