About the Role
In this role, you’ll work on early-stage concept development, design execution, and prototyping for a variety of advanced hardware projects. You’ll shape how products look, feel, and function, blending aesthetics with manufacturable design.
Key Responsibilities
Concept & CAD Design
- Contribute to ideation, concept development, and CAD modeling of next-generation products.
- Use SolidWorks, Rhino, or Creo to create 3D models and technical drawings.
- Conduct user research, market trend analysis, and competitive benchmarking.
Prototyping & Testing
- Collaborate on prototype building, testing, and iteration to refine functionality and design intent.
- Translate feedback from consumers and internal testing into actionable design improvements.
Collaboration & Integration
- Work closely with mechanical, electrical, and firmware teams to ensure seamless integration.
- Apply engineering principles to develop designs that balance aesthetics, functionality, and manufacturability.
Documentation & Communication
- Support manufacturing handoff, including BOMs and DFM/DFA reviews.
- Communicate ideas clearly through sketches, mockups, presentations, and CAD models.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Product Design Engineering, Industrial Design, or Mechanical Engineering
- 1–3 years of experience in a product or industrial design role, preferably in a fast-paced environment
- Proficient in SolidWorks, Rhino, or Creo and familiar with design for manufacturing
- Experienced in taking designs from concept through prototyping and testing
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Positive, collaborative mindset with a curiosity to learn and grow
- Excellent communication skills — able to present ideas and receive feedback constructively
- Hands-on mindset and experience with prototyping, 3D printing, or shop tools
Nice to Have
- Experience with consumer electronics, wearables, or connected devices
- Familiarity with materials like injection-molded plastics, soft goods, or sheet metal
- Basic understanding of embedded systems and how industrial design interfaces with electronics
- Experience using Adobe Creative Suite, KeyShot, or other rendering tools
