DESCRIPTION

Introducing an innovative device designed to enhance the meditation experience by sensing and interpreting brainwaves. By leveraging advanced neurofeedback technology, users can quickly train their brains to achieve higher states of consciousness.

Every brain is unique. This device customizes training based on individual brain maps, prior meditative or neurofeedback experiences, and personal goals. It allows users to cultivate powerful brainwave states such as Alpha, Theta, Gamma, and Delta, tailored specifically to their needs.

OUR MISSION

In today’s fast-paced world, mental health is a pressing concern, with an estimated 1 in 4 individuals experiencing a mental health disorder each year. As a pioneer in the field of neurotechnology, Dave Asprey has long been at the forefront of exploring innovative solutions to address this issue. His company, 40 Years of Zen, rooted in the concept of neurofeedback, aims to empower individuals to take control of their mental well-being by harnessing the power of their own brain activity.

The development of this device marks a significant step forward in achieving this goal, enabling individuals to better understand and regulate their mental states.

OUR APPROACH

Device development can be a complex and time-consuming process that require meticulous attention to detail and advanced technological expertise. When Dave Asprey, the pioneer of biohacking, approached AJProTech to design a cutting-edge device for his company, 40 Years of Zen, we embraced the challenge.

Our capabilities empower us to execute device production efficiently and effectively within a realistic timeframe. We handle the entire development cycle—from prototype development and thorough testing to product launch. With our extensive experience in developing innovative gadgets and our R&D team in Taiwan, we promptly delivered a groundbreaking solution for the company, enhancing people’s quality of life.

HOW IT WORKS

  • Non-Invasive and User-Friendly: no surgery or implants are required. It is designed for ease of use, even for individuals who aren’t tech-savvy.
  • EEG Sensors: Equipped with electroencephalography (EEG) sensors, the device captures the brain’s electrical activity and transmits it to a computer via Bluetooth.
  • Signal Amplification: The brain’s electrical signals are initially too small to be directly detected. The device uses an amplifier to boost these weak signals, making them recordable for further analysis.
  • Comprehensive Brainwave Detection: It can detect and measure various types of brainwaves.

HARDWARE DESIGN

One of our goals was to make a reliable device in a small enclosure. We designed an amplifier in a simple yet compact 7.7 x 5.2-inch enclosure. Featuring Bluetooth connectivity, it can be placed securely anywhere and easily paired with various accessories and mounting options, providing great flexibility and convenience for researchers.

Creating an effective EEG device requires meticulous attention to detail to ensure accurate and reliable brain activity recording. Our design incorporates several key considerations:

  • High-Quality EEG Electrodes: We use low-impedance, high-sensitivity electrodes to maintain stable connections to the scalp, crucial for precise signal detection.
  • Superior Analog-to-Digital Conversion:
The analog signal from the EEG electrodes must be converted to digital data to allow for advanced processing and analysis. For this purpose, we integrated a high-quality analog-to-digital converter (ADC) with a high sampling rate.
  • Noise Reduction: Designed to combat electromagnetic interference and other noise, our amplifier ensures clean and reliable EEG signals.
  • Real-Time Data Processing: the device includes optimized algorithms that facilitate real-time data processing. This enables immediate feedback and analysis, which is particularly beneficial for applications like neurofeedback, brain-computer interfaces, and cognitive training

TESTING AND VALIDATION

40 Years of Zen

Our engineering team rigorously tested the EEG amplifier under diverse conditions. We conducted comprehensive lab tests for electronic components and complemented these with field tests involving real users in real-world environments. This thorough testing process ensured the device’s performance and reliability.

SOFTWARE DESIGN

We meticulously chose software to complement our device, ultimately selecting OpenBCI. This open-source software platform offers an intuitive interface for recording, analyzing, and visualizing brain activity data.

40 Years of Zen

OpenBCI is highly customizable, enabling developers and researchers to modify and extend the software according to their specific needs. The platform is compatible with multiple operating systems, including Windows, macOS, and Linux. Utilizing OpenBCI, users can:

  • Record and store brain activity data in various formats
  • Visualize brain wave patterns and frequencies in real-time
  • Analyze and filter data using various algorithms and techniques
  • Customize and create their own analysis tools and plugins

I worked with AJProTech to implement a ruggedized version of a brain-reading device. That was a lot of work to do! Working with the team has been a dream. What I found was they were easy to work with, they got it done fast, and it works. I’m using this on billionaires to read their brain waves and make their brains better. Thank you, AJProTech!
